ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Cookstown Library is well on its way to achieving LEED Silver designation. All construction products used were scrutinized by the consultant prior to use. A horizontal underground loop system designed by Jain & Associates was installed under a future soccer field, providing geothermal heating and cooling to the building. The interior of the building is an open space subdivided by large screens of wood paneling and glass. Natural light filters into the space from the skylight above that runs down the length of the building, through a continuous network of hinged wood slats that were assembled on site.
