Don Mills Library

Client: Toronto Public Library
Prime Consultant: Ken Fukushima Architecture
Construction Date: 2013-2014
Location: Toronto, Ontario
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Don Mills Library Renovation consisted of the installation of a new reception, sorter room and front entrance area complete with RFID gates, as well as a stairwell and partial basement renovation. The new reception area features custom noise cancelling baffles hung from above, each individually designed, along with Prodema accented walls and ceilings. The main stairwell was newly tiled and new glass balustrades and stainless steel handrail installed. The library remained open throughout construction as J.D. Strachan worked with the branch to install temporary hoarding and entrances.
