ABOUT THE PROJECT

The “Italian Job” was the first major ride constructed at the park in the last 10 years.  The six acre site was surrounded by other rides, water courses and essential service roads running through the site that had to remain open.  Our project involved massive regarding, installation of new site services and over 160 undulating caissons with up to 8–2” diameter anchor bolts.  All were installed with a 5 mm tolerance.  Similar exacting standards were required to install the poured concrete features, like the Surf Curve structure and the structural steel enclosures for the various stations.  Due to the complex nature of the project it was necessary to employ a full time surveyor to verify final grades and ensure the accuracy of anchor bolt placement both before and after installation.  All work was successfully completed in time for the spring opening of the park.
